Argentina Martha Mine commenced operations in the year 2002 and in 2008 built a plant to process 240 tons of ore per day, which involved an investment of approximately $ 60,000,000. For more than 8 years of production, Mina Martha has become a generator of employment and economic opportunities for the province of Santa Cruz and the region.
The Company is in an expansion that includes the extension of the Martha Mine operation. Currently under development drilling activities in Mina Martha specific additional developments are being made on the vein Betty with the purpose of beginning production in 2011.
Similarly, the Company continues working in other exploration projects, also located in the province of Santa Cruz, with positive results that allow the continuity of investment over the area. Within the ongoing exploration activities, is the work done on the project Joaquin, located 90 km north of Mina Martha.
During the last 5 years, Coeur Argentina has invested over $ 100,000,000 in exploration in Santa Cruz. This sustained and significant investment reflects the long-term commitment of the Company's Mina Martha and the province of Santa Cruz, and is aimed at exploring opportunities for expansion of silver production in Argentina.
