Is It Ok To Eat The Casing On A Dry Salami

Argentina Bolivia: a new movement on climate change, by Naomi Klein

Cochabamba, Bolivia. It was 11 am and Evo Morales had become the football stadium into a giant classroom, and gathered a variety of objects props: paper plates, plastic cups, disposable waterproof, handmade gourds, wooden plates and colorful ponchos. All played a role to prove a point: to combat climate change "we need to retrieve the values of indigenous people."

However, rich countries have little interest in learning these lessons and, conversely, promote a plan that, at best, average global temperature increase in two Celsius. "That would imply that melted the glaciers in the Andes and the Himalayas," Morales told thousands of people gathered at the stadium, part of the World People's Conference on Climate Change and the Rights of the Mother Earth. What we do not need to say is that no matter how you choose to live sustainably the Bolivian people, because it has no power to save the glaciers.

climate summit in Bolivia has had its moments of joy, levity and absurdity. However, in the end, you feel the emotion that caused this event: rage against impotence.

not no surprise. Bolivia is in the midst of a dramatic political transformation, one that nationalized key industries and raised as never before the voices of the Indians. But in regard to your most pressing existential crisis-the fact that glaciers are melting at an alarming rate, threatening the water supply in two major cities, Bolivians can not change their fate by themselves alone.

This is because the actions that cause the melt are not made in Bolivia, but on the highways and industrial areas of highly industrialized countries. In Copenhagen, the leaders of nations at risk, such as Bolivia and Tuvalu, argued passionately in favor of such reductions on emissions of gases that could prevent a catastrophe. Politely told them that the political will North simply did not exist. And more: the United States made it clear he did not need that small countries like Bolivia were part of a climate solution. Negotiate an agreement with other heavy emitters in camera and the rest of the world would be informed of the results and invited to sign, which is precisely what happened to the Copenhagen agreement. When Bolivia and Ecuador refused to approve it on automatic, the U.S. government cut its aid climate at 3 million and $ 2.5 million, respectively. "It's not a free process," said Jonathan Pershing, U.S. climate negotiator. (Here's the answer for anyone ask why the activists in the South rejected the idea of "climate support" and, instead, demanded payment of "debts weather.") Pershing's message was chilling: if you're poor, you have no right to prioritize your own survival.

When Morales invited "social movements and defenders of Mother Earth, scientists, academics, lawyers and governments" to come to Cochabamba for a new type of climate summit, was a revolt against this feeling of helplessness was an attempt to build a power base around the right to survive.

The Bolivian government started discussions proposing four ideas: that it should grant rights to nature, to protect the ecosystem annihilation (a "universal declaration of the rights of mother earth"), that those who violate these rights and other international environmental agreements should face legal consequences (a "court climate") that poor countries should receive various types of compensation for a crisis they face but had little to do in create ("climate debt"), and should be a mechanism for people in the world to express their views on these issues (a "global referendum peoples on climate change).

The next step was to invite global civil society to be discussing the details. Were installed 17 working groups and after weeks of online discussion for a week met in Cochabamba, in order to present its final recommendations at the end of the summit. The process is fascinating but far from perfect (for example, as noted by Jim Shultz at Democracy Center, apparently, the working group on the referendum spent more time discussing whether to add a question to abolish capitalism by discussing how it does for carry out a comprehensive consultation.) However, the enthusiastic commitment of Bolivia with participatory democracy could be the most important contribution of the summit.

This is because after the debacle in Copenhagen an issue became highly dangerous viral: the real culprit was the failure of democracy itself. The process of United Nations Organization (UNO), which gives equal weight votes to 192 countries, it was just too unwieldy. It was better in small groups to find solutions. Even the environmental voice of confidence, as James Lovelock, fell into the trap: "I have a feeling that climate change may be an issue as severe as the war," he told The Guardian recently. "It may be necessary to put democracy on hold for a while." But in fact, these small groups, like the private club that forced the Copenhagen Agreement, which have caused us to lose ground and weakened the existing agreements, which themselves are inadequate. In contrast, climate change policy carried Bolivia Copenhagen was drawn up by social movements through a participatory process and the end result was, so far, the most transformative and radical vision.

With the summit in Cochabamba, Bolivia tries to globalize what he achieved national and invite the world to participate in drafting a climate agenda together, before the next meeting of the UN climate change in Cancun. In the words of the ambassador of Bolivia to the United Nations, Pablo Solon, "The only thing that can save humanity from a tragedy is the practice of global democracy."

If correct, the Bolivian process could not only save our planet is warming, but also our democracies in the process of failure. Not a bad deal.

When he arrived in Colombia ... Cartagena

Hello!
Today I am writing to tell you a funny story. These things happen when you are travel and have time!
few days ago we reached a village called Barichara, in the heart of Colombia. A particularly beautiful and tranquil place, where we spent a couple of days Culturilla, long walks and relaxation. Barichara architecture is very similar to the old English towns. The village is full settler influence in every corner! Upon arrival we stayed in a family house, a cute site, with its small patio and cozy interior. And then we sat at the table to eat some fruit we had co mprado before reaching the village. In the same table where we sat, sat the village priest, Monsignor José Antonio Arenas Prada and immediately struck up a long conversation. Our trip, the church's role in society today, the English today, as before, those who arrived on the peninsula claiming lands granted by the Viceroy, and much more. And talking talking, he tells me, for my grandfather, Don Javier Arenas was one of the first English ships with my great grandmother Mary OSÉS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I hit a jump from the table that I could not even believe. I was speechless and very nearly lost him the respect of man because we .... do not believe nor Osés tato Mary arrived on a boat in 1700 ....
We started talking about the name Osés (for you to be lost at this point, I clarified that my mother is OSÉS and besides I have a cousin named Mary Osés, which certainly love her and I send a big kiss!) . That if the aristocracy, if Navarra, if the shield and many more. We were at 30 degrees and me with goose bumps!
After the nice chat, invited us later by his house and we did. It has a beautiful house, perfectly preserved in the entire history of the family. Paintings, oil paintings, furniture, lamps, vases, dishes, and endless articles all brought from Europe by ship in his day. We were explaining how they got there. More than 3 months of boat, then more than 3 months to reach these people. MIRRORS WITH GIANT AND ARRIVAL!! How can it be? I load a boat to the bars of objects understand it, but transporting animals by road to taaaaaaaaaaaaan away, so hard to believe me!
Among the items he showed me his great-grandfather's diary, where mention of Mary Osés, explains the details of the trip, and a myriad of things. The logbooks of ships arriving from Spain. A book of all the English people arrived by boat to Colombia all crossings, ascending and descending. He showed us a family tree of over 300 huge, hand-made and impressive detail.

was an incredible afternoon, a trip to the past, then culture, customs of the aristocracy of yesteryear.
And no, I'm telling you because I made a lot of grace and yet aware that a Osés illusion came to this town for over 300 years!!
We have more adventures to tell, but I'm hoping that Uschi put the batteries and type. Is more uncertain than ever with the blog! And you insist that much now that we have more time!
Until next time! and a special kiss to tooooodos the OSÉS the world !!!!! Roberto

Thin Hemp Bracelets For Men

Thanks! Love and Knowledge

Cartagena Hello and goodbye! How can time pass so quickly?
After more than two months living in this wonderful city, we can only say to all through the blog Cartagena is THANKS.
Thanks for having us with open arms even before we arrived. Thank you for trusting us and giving us responsibilities in the foundations as we can c ollaborate and learn and share so many things. Thanks to all who have taught the hidden corners of the city: the places poorest, the richest, the most cultural, the most funky, most marginalized, the more dreamy and much more. While I recognize that we still do not assimilate as much contrast as we have lived these two months I think we could enjoy and savor every experience that we have given. THANKS.
is sometimes difficult to express what one feels. Today even more because in this case are new sensations. Feelings are hard to identify, so I put them words and make sense in a blog it seems almost impossible. Before you begin this journey, I look back and try to find 2 months consec Utivé in my life that have brought me so much and can not find them. With This is not to downplay my past, because otherwise it would not have gotten this far, but it helps me explain what I mean. It seems incredible that in just two months fit so many experiences, many people, much love, so much learning and knowledge, so many new sensations, SO MUCH LIFE! I'm not sure what it is, but something we are doing wrong in the Western world does not. We always have so quickly that 24 hours in a day are not enough, that weeks of 7 days grow shorter and the bull catches us systematically. Our excuse for everything is "I have no time for more" and always say with some dissatisfaction because we have curiously left to do is what we most wanted or have left out important personal issues. One of two, or have too many obligations, or are a lousy stewards of our time (or a mixture of both). The truth is that one of the reasons I am terrified of returning to Barcelona is to return to that frenetic pace. Cartagena is a coastal city and as such, its rate is Caribbean. Things are going slowly because. Anyone who comes here with Western mentality becomes mad. I certainly am not made for this beat, but I have learned to take things more calmly, with time, and you can not imagine the amount of new views you get from the things when you do things with time. I have millions of examples, but I put a short. A business day in Cartagena began work at 8. Could wake up at 7:30, shower running, leave home and take a motorcycle taxi and plants in the office in 10 minutes. Well NO. I woke up at 6, breakfast table sitting in the house, did a short meditation for 20 minutes with uschi, we read the news online and fell to the street where I took an orange juice pint chatting with the seller very quiet. Then he walked to the bus stop and then 20 minutes to the office. I assure you on the bus were born half of the ideas that took place in the foundation and all this because I have time. When it came to the office and had lived 2 hours!
imagine that everything that I tell you will sound to many Chinese, and say "of course, is that no children" or "in Cartagena and a foundation, we would all time!" "Yeah, like he has nothing to do to scratch the belly ... "" so anyone, no jams Cartagena! ". Believe me that none of these excuses would convince me. I carefully worked very long hours with 100% of my commitment, without missing even one day, I ate good jams, we had a very busy social life, but nevertheless almost always took time for the most important. And if the most important work, everything else was running alone! I do not know what it is, or what the formula, but they were two months in Cartagena full of life and experience, full of meaning and happiness. Believe me I will think about this and if you draw conclusions will share with you. As soon as I come two things to mind: the first is that we tend to fill our time with stocks, bonds and commitments are meaningless, and the second is to do things knowing they have an end date or so close makes Get much more days and you know say no to anything that does not interest you. One is linked with the other. I promise to dwell on all this and share findings with you.
Well readers, we have to say that our experience in the world is coming to an end. For five days we said goodbye foundations and Cartagena to know a little more this country and the idea is to get to Barcelona in May. We returned to backpacking and traveler's life! We will try to take advantage of this stretch and squeeze butt! I wish we pusieráis some comments on the blog and to collect any uschi to re-write, because it has abandoned the blog and its readers and I know very well that I love your articles! So I invite you to grumble and also I will have my support!
want to tell you I have new things to Colombia!
Here are some pics of Cartagena .
A big hug to all our readers and THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME

Hi everyone! How are you?
As in the past post I lingered too long on this I will do the opposite. I send a few lines that I have received today and I have the pleasure to enclose. It is a short read, but invites a lengthy reflection. Behind the lines is a Sutra. Hope you like it.
Hugs, Roberto

Earthquake April 30 Alma

Hi everyone! How are you?
Today I bring news and innovation blog. Yes Yes Yes! Last Wednesday I got to the 30 springs and decided to shoot (with camera) the whole day. It is a 18-minute video and see that it have the challenge of reaching the final! to see who gets it!
For more lost I am going to update. For more than two months, we settled in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia Caribbean for those who missed geography class) and two days after our arrival we started working on two foundations. Uschi the Sunrise Foundation, Jorge was in various projects until he returned to Barcelona and I at the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. After going tiradillos the world, we rented a small apartment for the 3 very cool in the center of Cartagena and obviously we had to buy clothes and change the wardrobe to start working (and playing it to change the wardrobe ... and of work !!!). This is as close to our former way of life (before you leave home). Surely the experience helps us to go home. It would be something like what Yankies called "soft landing" no?
Foundation muuuuuuy where I am is great and is number one in housing projects for the most disadvantaged throughout Colombia. I started working on the field but fate led me to mostly office work (I even bought some dockers and go back to combing in the morning !!!). And now over two months and we are 100% integrated into our roles and responsibilities.
work full time Monday to Friday and the truth is that every day is different, but I would say that we have returned to "routine" and the job market successfully. Believe that at times I did not look too capable, especially when facing long hours of computer and excels and others. Mission accomplished!
In the video you will see many things curious that we are living. Sure that you will see it will find hundreds of things that I do not like so I WELCOME ALL COMMENTS !!!!! You will not see much the city and the persosnas not benefiting from the programs of the foundation because that day was 100% office, buts yes you will see hints of a normal day and know my many colleagues in the office. I promise that the next will Uschi more than me, because it almost does not come! but there is next, she would be the main character!
also say that we have left Cartagena for a week only and we are going to visit a couple of recommended sites in Colombia. Surely there will be a ultimate destination is not confirmed but could be my cousin's house in Miami to fly home from there. So soon .... soon .... we will have again near. (I just encogerel heart! What about the blog??) Snif snif .... Yes yes, we think will land in the month of June or so. (To see if we can find an excuse to extend it one last time ... hahaha last article)
kisses to everyone and I hope you enjoy the video. I see myself ridiculous ... but on the other Ladom amused that you can see us and hear us a little!! This is the VIDEO . I think they wait before they can download it, the truth is I did not know where could crash video and this is the only option I found. Be patient ok??
Ah! and many thanks for all the congratulations for my 30! I had a day all happy and full and every one of ye were partly to blame for that! THANKS!! Besitos
Roberto
Pd. The photo above is a child living in one of the social housing, where the foundation works. Whenever I make this gesture to children with the finger and now when I see me repeat it forever! This child is to comeeeeeerselo !!!!!
